Bodrum holiday guide & weather forecast
Bodrum is a major holiday resort in its own right, dominated by the well-preserved Crusader castle. This popular holiday destination combines its Turkish character and its reputation of being one of Turkeys liveliest resorts.
Combining partying and shopping you could never have time to relax, as there's far too much to see and do, excellent late night shopping and a large outdoor market every Thursday.

Food: Bars and Restaurants from almost every corner of the world are available here offering food to suit every taste every hour of the day and night. The refreshing apple tea is most definitely worth sampling.
Gumbet is only a short taxi or dolmus (minibus) ride from the centre of Bodrum, an attractive town during the day that comes into its own at night. People of all nationalities throng the main pedestrian street, with its amazing collection of restaurants, bars and clubs to suit all tastes. The shops do a roaring trade at night, out of the blazing sun, with leather goods and jewellery a speciality.
Bitez
Situated on a wide sandy bay, Bitez although less than half an hour away from Bodrum, offers a lively location for family holidays, numerous small restaurants and bars, good watersport facilities and a relaxed and gentle way of life.
Torba
About a half an hour drive from the centre of Bodrum lies Torba, part situated on a long hill overlooking the bay, the remainder along a narrow strip following the coastline. A smart, sophisticated resort with good quality hotels, restaurants and bars, Torba provides an excellent alternative to its more boisterous neighbour whilst enjoying all of its benefits.
Nightlife: This lively resort offers a very lively clubbing scene for those who like to party. Bodrum boasts Halikarnas -- a club that boasts being the largest open air night club in the world, together with a wide range of other competing establishments stretched along the harbour front, including one that's based on an enormous catamaran that sets sail at 3am and returns around 5am!
Shopping: Welcome to an array of shops open late night and some all night also an extensive open air market on Thursdays. Take advantage of the very reasonable prices for Turkish carpets, kilms, and leather goods. Not to mention the famous Turkish delight.
Days out: A day at the Crusader Castle -as it is now a museum, with plenty of excellent exhibits and shady courtyards; or why nor tale a day out to the ancient Roman city of Ephesus rewarding. Or for a day out for all ages the modern aqua park at Dedeman, near Ortakent is well worth a visit.
Steeped in scenery, culture and history, the Bodrum peninsula is now easy to get to from an airport opened in 1998 and well served by a 24-hour network of dolmus buses that link even the small resorts to the bustling town of Bodrum. The resort is now much more developed than it was during the mid 1990s and has even more facilities than before.
