Some of the best beaches of the Cyclades group of islands can be found here, with the best beach Ornas being one of the favorites on Mykonos but includes Agios Stefanos, Psarou, Kalafatis, Plati Gialos, Ornos, Elia and Panormos.
Famed for it’s pioneering nude beach areas on the southern coast of the island: Paradise, Super Paradise (is a popular Gay resort).
For the fans of 'Shirley Valentine' among you, the film was shot on the beach at Aghios Ioannis and is well worth a visit!
Beaches:
Agios Stefanos. Many hotels in this area supply a wide range of accomodation with the beach itself offering a good selection of restaurants and cafes. This is a very family oriented beach and the resort is very laid back.
Food: The most sophisticated eating in the Greek islands is available in Mykonos Town - though beware of the prices. The high standards set in the island capital have rubbed off on even the remoter Tavernas, so expect to eat well.
Night on the town: The main resort to go to is Mykonos Town famous for it’s many bars restaurants and clubs, though elsewhere on the island you'll find things a lot less frantic. and suited to the local bars.

AGIOS IONASSIS is thought by many to be one of the most picturesque places on the island. It is well known for location shots during the shooting of the movie Shirley Valentine. There is only a tiny strip of sand and stone but the setting in the beautiful bay is dramatic with views across to the island of Delos and a small white chapel to add a picture postcard feel.
Ornos
The sheltered bay is ideal for families though with a gently sloping beach and lots of watersports on offer. Boats trips to other beaches are also plentiful so many may like to use it as a base for exploring the rest of the island.
Glastros is about 1.5 km from Mykonos town and 1 km from the beach of Platy Yialos. It's a small town located in between Platis Yialos and Mykonos Town. There is a supermarket in Glastros and other amenities can be found in the surrounding resorts.
From Glastros, the beach of Megali Ammos is easily accessible, as are the beaches of Psarou and Platis Gialos.
Plati Yialos A lively and stylish resort with many hotels and restaurants, Plati Yialos was the original Mykonos resort and is situated 10 minutes from Mykonos Town by bus. It has one of the most popular beaches in the Mediterranean Sea. The beach is excellently organised and provides a variety of facilities for water sports such as water skiing and diving.
Shopping: Mykonos Town has a very wide selection of chic shops.
Day Trips:
There's the Watermania aqua park in Elia or you can take a boat trip to the sacred island of Delos, packed with Greek, Roman, and Macedonian remains.
**Please note not all of the accommodation is on Mykonos Island, occasionally you may stay on Naxos or Paros Islands which are just off Mykonos or Ornos on the Island itself **
