Frigate Bay offers something for almost everyone as it has many hotels bars and restaurants and even a golf course.
Eating Out: The hotels cater more for the International market offering a wide selection of restaurants. Typical West Indian food is available at many of the local restaurants, most with outdoor dining and is very reasonable. Try Carib the local beer as well as the locally produced rum.
**Check your bill before leaving a tip of around 10%, as it is often included.**
Evenings: Nightlife is mostly centred around the main hotels, although the capital, Basseterre has a few bars of its own. For the Gambler among you why not try your luck at the Jack Tar hotel.
Sport: Many water sports are offered at the beach and there are excellent diving and snorkelling sites just waiting to be explored. As well as golf, volleyball and for the climber among you why not attempt to walk through the rainforests and venture the 1,156m up Mount Liamuiga and view neighbouring Nevis.
Shopping: Shops open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to Noon, and re-open from 1pm to 4pm. On Thursdays, most shops close in the afternoon. Duty free goods such as jewellery, watches and local handicrafts being the best value.
Day trips: Take a boat trip to the neighbouring island of Nevis and admire the influences that made this Island what it is today. Or take a Catamaran cruise and take the opportunity to go island hopping and snorkelling at some of the best sights on the island.
Or for the more adventurous among you why not take a picnic whilst walking around the island for the day.
