Food: There's no shortage of places to eat with a range of restaurants offering Italian, French and even Chinese!
Nightlife: The resort is rather light on nightlife which tends to be based around the tourist hotels and the local bars.
Shopping: Great bargains to be had at the local bazaar. Leather goods and gold are superb value in Egypt.
Days out: On the West Bank visit the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Hatshepsut's Temple and Colossi of Memnon. To the East there are plenty more temples of Karnak and Luxor to visit.
Luxor Museum – Located on the northern end of the corniche, Inquire about opening times as they are usually closed about lunchtime. Contains an exquisite collection from the surrounding tombs and temples. Well laid out with concise explanations. A bit pricey to enter (E30), but worth the time.
Luxor Temple – You can’t miss this when in Luxor, massive statues and colonnades and detailed hieroglyphics are some of the attractions at this ancient historic temple. Worth going at night when it is lit up and local actors revive the drama of ancient Egypt.
Cruise the Nile – A plethora of Nile cruises are on offer, the best way to go is on a traditional Dhow, sit back and be transported back in time. Passing many temples and monuments and villages that have hardly changed in thousands of years. Close your eyes and imagine Cleopatra.
Valley Of The Kings – The west bank of the Nile is where you’ll find this world famous tourist destination, where the ancient Egyptians entombed their leaders. Many tombs have been raided, and many artifacts are in museums worldwide, but the guides will tell you interesting stories as you soak in the atmosphere.
