Choose from the following holiday resorts on the Costa Brava:
Lloret de Mar
As one of the first resorts in the Mediterranean to be developed for tourism Lloret de Mar has had 50 years to get it right and it shows. If you're looking for a huge variety of restaurants, stunning beaches, and entertainment 24 hours a day then Lloret has just about everything you could ask for. In recent years, the resort has enjoyed a revival. It is no longer 'Blackpool in the sun' for us Brits. Instead a mix of nationalities now enjoy its golden shores; its beaches have been awarded the blue flag and venture from the seafront and you'll find palm-tree lined promenades, characterful houses, pleasant terrace cafes and pretty squares.
Tossa de Mar
Given national historical status as one of the best-preserved fortified towns in Spain, Tossa is still very much a typical Catalan town. Framed by the pine-clad peaks of the Cadiretes mountains, a wide sandy bay sweeps down from the flower-bedecked streets of the Vila Vella (old town) to the turquoise blue waters of the Mediterranean. Tossa's name means 'flower of the sea' and it's easy to see why - its coves and beaches are some of the prettiest in the Costa Brava and rarely get overcrowded. Tossa de Mar has retained much of its rich cultural heritage and the unhurried Catalan way of life gives the town a distinct village atmosphere
Day Trips: Take a trip to Barcelona and visit the Nou Camp stadium, or the site-packed Catalan capital; the Pyrenean Principality of Andorra; the renowned stunning Botanical Gardens at Blanes (south of Lloret). Visit the monastery of Montserrat; or spend a spend a surreal day exploring the Dali Museum in Figueres.
