Is it true the the CAA are taking travel republic to court, over the ATOL regulations.

Yes it is true that the CAA are pursuing travel republic over alleged breaches of the ATOL regulations, that is the Air Travel Operators Licence.
This from the CAA: Our case against T R essentially revolves around the Fact that CAA believes that TR have been putting together and selling packages without an ATOL, which is contrary to the ATOL Regulations.
In other words you can sell flights and you can sell accommodation, however if you put the 2 together on one invoice then that is a apparently a package and for that you need and ATOL licence, that is the basis of the CAA case.
