It seems that Teletext Holidays have agreed a new retail partnership with Tesco. What a complete farce that is going to be, In our opinion nothing on Teletext is ever the price on screen….
Plus online booking is far cheaper than anything Teletext can offer…
So now you can go shopping, get a list of holidays that strangely are not available at that price or have just gone, but they do have one more expensive or there are extras to pay…
The deal marks the entry into the holiday market for the supermarket giant, which many in the trade have expected – and some feared.
Teletext will operate branded, and staffed, in-store travel agent “pods”.
It plans to open 20 in the next two years, with the first set to open in December in Pitsea, Essex.

I have been in the travel trade for now over 20 years and there have been many changes some good and others bad, but in respect to teletext and barry gooch i do feel that he is trying to police the entire industry he believes all small agents are risky , get rid of barry you know who and teletext is an old forum there are many other ways to promore your business without having teletext tell you what you need and how to sell , let barry come work for me and i am sure he will be out of the door in less than a day
