So lets cut through the confusion of who should I book my next holiday with, and cut straight to the chase, to lay bare Travel price comparison.

Consider if you will that the 2 major tour operators in the UK are, Thomson holidays and First Choice Last-minute Deals.

First Choice holidays have 38% share and Thomson Holidays have 35% of the holiday market, and between them they sell over 70% of the package holiday deals in the UK.

Another money saving option, for travel comparison is the DIY holiday, which is booking the accommodation and flights separately.

Which means the Thomas Cook site will have all these deals from the above list.. However they do add on extras, so in our opinion they are not good value..so why be messed around by travel comparison sites.

Next is Cosmos and Jet2holidays, with the rest being made up with specialist like Virgin  and Kuoni. More importantly you won’t find these on those travel comparison sites, what do they compare..

So if you want to save yourself time and effort, then forget comparison holiday sites they actually compare nothing, cut them out and go direct.
