Almost half of UK Holidaymakers consider resigning and looking for a new job after after their summer holiday, says new research.
Cheaperholidays.com surveyed 1,500 people and found that as many as 48% of those returning to work suffer post-holiday blues.More than half - 56% - admitted to feeling fed up in their jobs immediately after a holiday.
However, 87% said that holidays had a positive effect on their working lives in the longer term as they felt refreshed and more ready to make major life decisions as a result.
“Holidays are a vital way to recharge the batteries and reflect on your life and career.
“But it’s only natural that, as they return to the daily grind after a fantastic break, many people will suffer from post holiday blues or become unsettled in their jobs when they return to their desks.”
The survey is supported by recruitment experts who claim that September is their busiest month of the year.
“The results of this survey come as no surprise. We receive more CVs and applications in September than any other month of the year as workers return to after the summer break.”
