Brean sands Pontins News: If your considering a holiday to Pontins Brean Sands, Dont. The rooms at Brean sands are disgusting..

You will (before you travel to pontins Brean sands), need to take a lot of disinfectant room cleaner with you. To clean the walls doors windows ect ect..

Why you may ask? The Rooms and accommodation at Brean sands are nothing short of disgusting..

The next shock is the accommodation, picture run down garden sheds and you will not be far wrong. (Note they don’t actually show you the run down accommodation, on the Pontins Brean sands web site) Take a look here: Pontins accommodation at Brean sands Somerset

Be warned you will be treated like you don’t matter, complaints fall on deaf and rather stupid ears. The urge to drag someone by the ear to the accommodation was overwhelming…

We checked in at 4pm yet you have to vacate by 10am on the day of departure. Which make the disgusting state of the room’s all the more annoying…

___________________________________________________

We sent our very own mystery shopper to Pontins Brean sands on a Monday to Friday break. The report makes disturbing reading…

  • First you had the ridiculous farce of collecting your room keys where you have lines of holidaymakers lining up, as if they are waiting at an airport check in.
  • The keys are supposed to be sorted by surname hence the lines, however this plan would have worked if they did not have the camp idiots sorting out the keys, not helped by the odd individuals in the wrong Que…

  • This took from 4pm to 4.45 pm and off we trudged to the room where we were met with stained and dirty paint work, filthy carpets, filthy and mouldy windows, mattresses covered in God knows what, this took us over an hour too clean up.
  • The whole camp site has that run down look of poor repair and maintenance with rotting wood work on the chalets all too apparent

When we complained to the Management their response was total disinterest no apology or shock horror, all we got was we will send someone round later, they never came…

Not the start you want from your holiday break, after checking with other holidaymakers around the site this seems to be the norm so you have been warned…

Next we have the family rip off the drinks machines in the pool area are selling cans of Coke ect for £1.30 Chocolate bars for £1.20 with the “no change lite lit up” all week even after we pointed this out..

Good Points

  • The only good points of the Pontins Brean Sands complex are the Car parks plenty of spaces and the Grass areas, finally your are with within 300 yards of the Beach at Brean, there are no shops nearby the beach so take everything with you.
  • The Beach is OK but the sea is a chocolate brown color not very inviting due to Mud banks just of the surf line

Would we go again certainly not, unless you like spending a week or so in something that should have been demolished years ago..

I can only assume from the spelling and grammer contained in this article that the author is not a journalist. Commenting on standards of work at another business when your own standard of work is this low almost redefines the term irony.

  2. Cheap-holidays Says:

    Dear M Rogers

Strangely we sell holidays and are not journalists the spelling is fine.

However I notice that you do not dispute the factual content, such as the disgusting state of the accommodation, the run down complex, how ironic as you appear to work for Pontins pehaps at brean sands.

I can only speak on my experience of going to Brean Sands twice in the last 18 months with 3 young children. True the accommodation is basic and you do have to queue for your key but this is a minor inconvenience when placed in the contexted of a holiday where young children are entertained all day long. Standards of cleanliness are not as absymal as previously stated and staff were always helpful. I would advise people to visit Tescos which is 5 miles away from the camp as the on site shop has limited choice and is more expensive. As the original person states it is very close to a beach where myself and my family have spent many enjoyable hours. To summarize Pontins Brean Sands is an affordable family holiday not the grimy death trap that has been portrayed.

We cams back from Brean Sands on friday (a day early). We were upgraded to a “Club Class” 10 seconds after inspecting our chalet. This was actully WORSE. Window’s so dirty light was lucky to penetrate them, heaters hanging from the wall, the bathroom resembled an untidy pig sty, the toilet smeared with excrement and other “things”, matresses stained and ripped, carpet soiled and stained, vegetation growing in the bedrooms, silverfish infestation. If Mrs S Hawkins obviously enjoys staying in a place like this I wonder what her house is like?

Pontins Brean sands review: Discusting place, chalet should be condemned, filthy, mouldy windows and a sofa bed not fit for a dog to sleep on.Kitchen utensils were covered with thick grease, everything was filthy. also
    overflowing drains near reception area
I am in process of complaining, not sure it will do any good , but i’ve also contacted the Somerset Tourist Officer.
This has to be stopped, I felt insulted to be offered this accommadation.

My family and I have just returned from a week at Brean Sands. We booked in at Pontins and the next morning checked out and booked in at Unity (another complex close by). Pontins is a grimy death trap – fact. ‘Disgusting, dirty, rundown’ are not adequate enough words to use. The whole of Pontins needs to be closed down in terms of holiday enjoyment; health and safety reasons; and marketing mis-representation. The manager openly admitted that the park should have been refurbished ten years ago. Pontins should not allow this park to continue trading. If you do have the mis-fortune of booking this holiday, then ask for a full refund on your arrival and then go and book accommodation at Unity, or go straight back home.
