Holiday flights advice: Passengers can pay 30% more for a flight on a no-frills Budget airline if they check in a bag and use a credit card, according to our research.
Prices from four of the UK’s major no-frills carriers – easyJet, Ryanair, bmi baby and Jet2 – were compared on flights to four destinations, including extra charges for paying with a credit card and checking in one item of luggage.

Holiday booking advice: An overhaul of the ATOL passenger protection scheme does not go far enough, according to consumer watchdog Holiday Which?
“A significant number of people book hotels from direct links on airline websites, or use online travel agents to book their own package, and could be left without the peace of mind that they are protected should something go wrong.
Which? Holiday said it is aware of a growing trend towards “reverse packaging”, where people are booking hotel accommodation and then booking their flights through a link on the hotel website.

Latest holiday advice: The CAA has warned it may stop refunding the flight costs for customers who booked a holiday through an agent – even if the flight was provided by an Atol holder.
Which means they may not refund the cost of the flight or the whole pacakge if your travel agent has combined the flights and accomodation separately and they are not ATOL holders. In other words this is not a package you would get from say Thomson.

Holiday advice: Some good news if you ever tried to book a holiday with Teletext.
The end is in sight for the wild west that was teletext, as it shuts down the analogue TV channels in 2010, no more of those phantom holidays. However they will be on Digital but who goes there..
You know the ones, oh yes that holiday has just gone however we do have a more expensive one…
