McCarthy Travel agent folds

Mccarthy travel: Another cowboy travel agency folds Scottish travel agency McCarthy Travel has ceased trading today.

Douglas McCarthy said the company – which had made a £300,000 profit in the last year – collapsed after the Royal Bank of Scotland refused it an overdraft.

No Mcathery travel collapsed because it was poorly run end of story..

The bank said the request was rejected because there was not enough security against the debt.

“I blame them [the banks and Gordon Brown] 100%. They took us all into this mess but when you need their help they ask you for the world.

This comes after Cruise specialist, G & B Travel Ltd, had ceased trading with over 4,000 forward bookings. These idiot travel agencies have been giving the profit away. Book direct its safer for you..

The rather dodgy Bathgate company also traded as Bill McCarthy Travel, DMC Holidays Direct in2sun, why so many trading names you have to ask, what sort of mess they were in and how many passenger they have let down…

Any retail claims arising from the failure of McCarthy Travel will be handled by CEGA, ABTA’s claims handling partner, and any ATOL claims will be handled by the Civil Aviation Authority.

ABTA understands that McCarthy Travel Ltd was a member of Advantage Travel Centres. If any principals dealt with this company on the Central Advantage Payments Scheme (CAPS) they should contact Advantage Travel Centres.
