Greece seems to have lost its sense of humour, and has caused the Foreign Office (FCO) to update its travel advice to Greece following the arrest of Brits dressed up as nuns.

In its local laws and customs section, the FCO warns travellers that certain types of fancy dress might offend the Greek authorities, and be considered a breach of decency laws.

Mooning is also considered unacceptable, according to the advice, and police have warned they will not tolerate it.

From July 1, smoking has been banned in all indoor public places and is punishable by fines of up to €500. Thousands of restaurants and bars over 70 sq metres will have to provide sealed-off smoking areas.
