Flight news: Monarch Airlines is introducing a free hold baggage allowance for infants from today.
Monarch is a trading name of Cosmos Holidays plc, who are the UK’s largest independent tour operator and part of the Globus group of companies, a family run organisation established in 1928 which encompasses Cosmos Holidays, Cosmos Tourama, Avro, Monarch Airlines, somewhere2stay and Archers Direct.
Monarch Airlines is introducing a free hold baggage allowance of 10 kgs for infants from today.
The allowance will be on top of the 20kg of hold baggage per person and in addition to pushchairs, prams and car seats, which will continue to be carried free of charge.
This will be welcome news for families travelling with young children who often struggle to carry all the essential holiday items for themselves and their infant within their standard baggage allowance.
“As an airline flying to popular holiday destinations in Spain, Portugal and Cyprus, we carry many young families on their annual holidays and feel it is important to make their travel experience as seamless as possible.
“Monarch is committed to providing great customer care and service to all of its passengers and parents can now have piece of mind when travelling that they do not need to sacrifice other items to make way for necessities needed for their infants on holiday.”
