In a survey of 1,000 of the travel search engines users undertaken last week, 60% said they were planning to celebrate the festive holiday season preferably on a beach way from the UK.
Which would explain the surge in Christmas holiday bookings for 2008. With Special offer deals from Jet2holidays – Direct holidays – Thomson – Thomas Cook and Monarch holidays its cheaper to go abroad this Christmas.
As many as Forty five percent of the UK holiday makers, said they were planning on going somewhere warm this December while more than a 1/3 said they would be willing to endure a long-haul flight of 10 hours to reach their preferred destination.
More than 40% of of UK HOLIDAY MAKERS said they were planning a beach break while 23% were opting for a break in a European city.
“Nearly 3/4 of holidaymakers admitted they disliked something about today’s Christmas experience – from the cost and aggravations of picking the perfect present to spending time with the in-laws.
“But nearly all of us would be happy to travel abroad with our families and spend a meaningful and relaxing Christmas holiday away from the hustle and bustle.”
