Caribbean Vaccinations advice

It is recommended that if you plan to travel to the Caribbean attend a travel clinic at your GP’s, for necessary vaccinations which may include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Diphtheria, TB and Hepatitis B. Jet lag See – Jet lag advice.

Before departing on your Caribbean holiday, make sure you have all your affairs, business and personal, in order. Being stressed seems to make the effect of Jet Lag worse.

Ensure you are not overly tired or hungover from a function the night before. Get plenty of exercise in the days prior to departure..

Plenty of Fluids

The dry air in aircraft causes dehydration. Drinking plenty of non-alcoholic fluids counters this.

Water is better than coffee, tea and fruit juices. Alcohol not only is useless in combating dehydration, but has a markedly greater intoxicating effect when drunk in the rarefied atmosphere of an airliner than it does at ground level.

You need to be awake and ready to go when you land so even though they are 5 hours in front try and stay awake, till it gets dark this will reduce the effect of Jet Lag enormously.

Finally Enjoy your holiday and if you are all inclusive do try and leave the resort to experience the real Caribbean, whichever Island you are on…
