Ashes 2011 huge flight price increases

ashes-2011We are warning that cricket fans enjoying the Ashes this week will have to pay anything from £85 to £170 in APD tax on top of the ticket price to see the next Ashes series, in Australia 2011.

The increases in APD or Air Passenger Duty planned for November this year and next mean APD on a ticket to Australia will go up from £40 to £170 in premium economy and £85 in economy.

We call on the government to cancel the increases because of the damage it would cause to UK tourism and overseas destinations.

It came as the European Tour Operators’ Association warned London would lose its place as the main gateway to Europe if these horrendous APD tax the rises went ahead.
