APD tax rises – Your country needs you.
Cheaperholidays and Abta are calling on customers to write to their MP’s in protest at increases to Air Passenger Duty planned for this November and next year 2010.
This poll tax of the air has to be stopped before holidaymakers that’s you and I are priced out of the market. This Tax will cause tour operator and airline failures..
The increases mean that a family of four flying to Florida will pay £180 in tax from November 1 this year and £240 from November 1, 2010.

Caribbean destinations will be even harder hit as the same family will pay £200 from November this year and £300 from November 2010.
Customers choosing premium economy for some extra leg-room will pay double the amount of tax.
“One of the great successes of travel has been that we have made it possible for families on a budget to head overseas for holidays or to visit loved ones.
“These steep rises in taxation at a time when families are already feeling the pinch will only help to take us back to the days when only the well off could afford to fly.”
