Teletext holidays more frequently known in the trade as the wild west of holiday booking is attempting to clean up its act by forcing companies to have ATOL licences or face being removed from the service.
However the fatal flaw in their argument, is these companies will simply revert to being retail agent for ATOL holders and then offer dynamic packaging to clients over the phone, thus sidestepping the teletext regulations..

Cheaperholidays are showing a huge 43% increase in bookings in the first two months of this year, compared with January and February 2007. The so called credit crunch is having no effect on holiday bookings.
UK holiday makers can always be relied upon to take a “true Brit spirit”, with holidays seen as a necessity to relieve the stress of modern life and not a luxury.

Holiday review sites: We have been saying this for years. The end, it seems, could be nigh for those cheeky hoteliers who pretend to be customers, on TripAdvisor Holidays-uncovered, holidaywatchdog and other holiday review sites to write themselves glowing reviews.
As of April 6 2009, Brussels will be banning such underhand activities as the EU’s Unfair Commercial Practices Directive comes into force, making commercial blogging, or flogging as it’s known, an offence.

Travel by ferry is seeing a huge revival in the face of competition by airlines, due to chaos at airports, the latest figures from Cheaperholidays show.
Nearly 43 million passenger ferry journeys were taken between the UK and the continent, Ireland and British islands last year – a huge rise of 421,000 over 2006.
UK to Ireland routes performed strongly with numbers up from 5.3 million to 5.5 million – a 4.3% increase.
