Summer holiday rush

The summer holidays start this weekend and we are predicting more than two point five million people will be travelling abroad. All looking for cheap late deals and last minute hot offers.

Research for Cheaperholidays shows that summer holiday bookings out of the UK were up one per cent at the end of June compared to the same time last year, despite the gloomy economic climate. For the best deals see Travel Price Comparison

The biggest growth in bookings this year is for Egypt, which is up 29%, Turkey up 23% and the US up 9.5 per cent.

If your considering a holiday with Pontins, then be advised that

1. You will need to take disinfectant room cleaner with you, before you pack anything else…

The next shock is the accommodation, think run down garden sheds and you will not be far wrong. (Note they don’t actually show you the run down accommodation on the web site) Pontins holidays at Brean sands Somerset

Be warned you will be treated like you don’t matter. We checked in at 4pm yet you have to vacate by 10am on the day of departure. Which make the disgusting state of the room’s all the more annoying…

Holidaymakers happy with web bookings

An increasing number of people are finding that they are saving on average over £150 over travel agent prices when they book holidays on the Internet, with 30% paying less than they had expected, according to new research.

The survey carried out on by Travel Now, which is keen to highlight the online booking is safe secure and guarantee at least 12% savings over travel agent deals…

The study found that almost three quarters of travellers (74%) were buying their holidays online, but cheaperholidays said many of them would actually be booking with a travel broker that had an online presence.

Komodo dive instructor reprimanded as incompetent

Indonesian authorities have branded Kathleen Mitchinson - the dive instructor who was leading the dive off the coast of the Indonesian island - As incompetent as she would have know full well the currents in the area.

The authorities are also looking on to allegations that this was a publicity stunt to sell the story to the newspapers.

Its very odd that the dive boat they were supposedly waiting for, was delayed, yet it stayed in the same position well after the divers air would have run out, the dive skipper would also have known the currents the area….
