The holiday sun in Gran Canaria is 30% stronger, which means if it clouds over you will burn so be careful for the first few days.
Nightlife: Playa del Ingles has all nightclubs, bars and restaurants. Puerto Rico has hot dance parties, bars and discos. Maspalomas and Balna Feliz offer a gentle haven with friendly cafes and picturesque town squares.
Shopping: Chic Las Palmas has the best shopping, with a market on Sunday mornings. The luxury taxes are low and good buys are spirits, tobacco, lace, wine and electrical goods. .

The Gran Canaria resort of Puerto Rico has superb water sports on their famous man made beach. As well as more low key nighlife with nice bars cafes and resteraunts.
Playa del Ingles has three water-parks and the most Clubs and Discos. There is also golf, football, 10-pin bowling and Go Karting. Playa del Ingles guide
Food: Fresh fruit, vegetables in soups, or covered in spicy mojo sauce are good value. The local wine is fine but try a sip of the banana liqueur for a little adventure.
Maspalomas
Situated only 10 minutes from the bustle of Playa Del Ingles, Maspalomas is a much quieter resort offering the best of both worlds.
Maspalomas has a fabulous 6km fine white sandy beach. It also boasts an 18-hole golf course, a water park and great shopping. The resort of Costa Meloneras, with its upmarket shops and luxury hotels, provides an alternative for the discerning client seeking something new.
The dunes of nearby Maspalomas are within walking distance and the water park and golf course are nearby. The pleasant and attractive promenade is ideal for an evening stroll after dinner in the warm night air.
Playa del Ingles If its non-stop action you’re looking for, Playa Del Ingles is definitely for you!
It is the largest resort on the island with pubs, clubs, restaurants and lots of shopping. Playa Del Ingles also boasts 2 miles of unspoilt beach offering water sports and an excellent choice of bars and restaurants.
Puerto Rico This attractive modern resort is built into the hillside with fabulous views of the coastline.
The main beach is man-made, sandy and great for families, a sunbather’s paradise. Puerto Rico is not suitable for those with walking difficulties due to its hillside location. There is a marina and a good range of restaurants and bars to choose from. Visit the waterpark or enjoy a boat trip to the picturesque fishing village of Mogan.
San Augustin San Agustin offers clients a quieter beach resort with all the ingredients for a relaxing holiday.
Situated only 2km from Playa del Ingles large shopping centres. On it’s long black sand beach there are a range of water sports including windsurfing available. A selection of restaurants and bars are found in this area. The well known Maspalomas Casino is located here, for those of you who fancy a flutter!
