ATOL reform We welcome the government’s decision to include a clause within its Civil Aviation Bill which will give it the option to include holidays sold by airlines into the Atol scheme.

The amendments to the existing power would allow the Secretary of State to make regulations to require Atol licences to be held by (i) airlines for sale of holidays including a flight and (ii) businesses procuring holidays including a flight on an “agent for the consumer” basis.

UK Travel news: With UK breaks on average over £300 more expensive for a family that going abroad plus the bad weather – its surprising that Cornwall is on course to become the top UK travel destination of 2012 for British holidaymakers wanting to take a “stay-cation”.

Early indications suggested that the favourite date is the first week in June, to coincide with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, on June 2 to 5. followed by April 6, and February half term, on February 10.
