Manchester and UK airports to open

Manchester Airport has confirmed it will open at 9am tomorrow morning. With the rest of the UK TO follow later tomorrow…

You must call the airport or the Airline before you travel to the airports. See contact list Airlines and tour operators.

However the disruption is set to continue as the Airports deal with aircraft in the wrong place, that need to be flown in.

A Manchester Airport spokesperson said following advice from Nats, the airport would open “unless there is a deterioration in conditions”.

He added that it is “absolutely essential” customers contact their airline before travelling to the airport, as schedules will take “some time” to return to normal.

“After five days without flights, tens of thousands of passengers waiting to be repatriated and the ash cloud continuing to cover parts of Europe, significant disruption is likely before normal operations are resumed,” he continued.

“We would like to thank passengers for their continued patience and understanding since this situation began on Thursday April 15.”
