Lanzarote travel guide and deals – Lanzarote is a sun-baked island just off the coast of Morocco North Africa, which gives Lanzarote warm sea breezes. Lanzarote travel offers great value centred around modern, bright resorts.
But travel to Lanzarote is not all about the beaches. But holidaymakers do flock here to laze on the soft golden sands but there’s more to this sun-drenched slice than just sunbathing.
Like its brothers and sisters, Lanzarote was born out of fiery eruptions. It’s volcanic to the extreme. Think dramatic peaks. Solidified lava streams. And bizarre rock formations. The scorched landscape of Timanfaya National Park looks like something from Doctor Who.
In fact, a holiday in Lanzarote is probably the closest thing you’ll get to being on the moon.
In terms of where to go, lively Puerto Del Carmen is a popular choice, thanks to its fabulous range of bars and restaurants, not to mention its irresistible ribbon of sun-drenched sand.
If you’re looking for something a little more peaceful, then laid-back Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise both deserve a spot on your shortlist.
So, whether it’s a last-minute bargain holiday to Lanzarote or an all-inclusive summer holiday that puts the emphasis on luxury, we’ve got the full spectrum of getaways to choose from.
Must see’s
Los Hervideros is a must-see. It’s a lava tube that was created as lava gasses previously trapped under the surface have spewed into the sea, forming fantastic, deep sea caves and blow-holes in the coarse, black rocks.
More caves and blowholes are continually formed as the heavy surf pounds the shore and lashes away at the stone.
Charco de los Clicos.
Secreted inside the cove and surrounded by cliffs in an area that was previously the crater of a volcano, this green lagoon is best viewed in the afternoon when the sun is high in the sky and the various colours of the water and surrounding cliffs are highlighted.
