Comparison websites slated

We have been advising you for over a year to treat holiday comparison web sites with caution.

These sites claim to be able to give you the best deal when in fact they have a small list of suppliers to choose from, and strangely the best deal for them, tends to float to the top..

To be effective in comparing holiday deals you have to know the size of the party involved, these sites do not, plus they show deals that are going to give them the best commission…

If you look at our holiday comparison overview of the best holiday deals, and how the big four stack up you will find that most of the best holiday deals are with Thomas Cook holidays and Thomson holidays.

The major criticism of the comparison sites is that different comparison websites may highlight different deals as being the best one for a particular consumer. When in reality they are promoting the best deal for them…

The number of comparison websites has mushroomed over the last few years – as more of us use them to try and find a cheaper deal on a range of products.

All of the sites receive a commission from the companies they recommend.
