Boy killed in Thai pool – Pattaya

Thai travel news: A 14-year-old British boy on holiday in Thailand has been killed after being sucked into a Thai Water parks swimming pool pumping system in Pattaya on Friday.

Nathan Clark 14, from the Isle of Man, was said to have lifted a grill on the bottom of a one-metre deep whirlpool to retrieve his goggles.

Clark had been playing at a water park with his father, brother, stepbrother and stepmother.

His body was found in the pump room by engineers some 30 minutes after his brother raised the alarm. His death was confirmed by the Foreign Office.

The boy’s father has been reported to have said Thai lifeguards did not take the family’s pleas for help seriously after he went missing.

The water park has now reportedly offered the family compensation.
